I just finished reading this amazing story:
Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. A sad, but beautiful children's book about the young
Sadako, a girl from Hiroshima, who discovers she has leukemia - an after effect from the atomic bomb thrown on her city.
In the back of the book it tells the reader how to make a paper crane and so I did:

I dedicate this crane to the children who have fallen ill after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and to their families.

We read this book in one of my elementary school classes as part of a project, and we made cranes afterwards as well. It's one of my favorite children's books, even if it is really sad! I think it made me cry..
